We have an opening for a Cloud System Architects on our DevOps cloud team. Our Emerging Technology Services leverages the most progressive cloud technology. We frequently utilize bleeding-edge technologies to accomplish these goals. Our work is dynamic, fast-paced, and offers exciting opportunities for career growth. We serve in the operations role of the DevOps equation and work closely with Cerner’s development organization to ensure that all aspects of our platforms are functioning optimally and contributing towards our objectives of providing the highest level of system stability and uptime.

A Cloud System Architect is responsible for design, consulting, managing projects and troubleshooting. They also provide mentorship, guidance and leadership to team members.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information System, Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 5 years of System administration or engineering work experience

  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position

  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of cloud solution design and implementation experience (private or public cloud)

  • 3+ years of extensive automation and development experience using scripting or programming language

  • 3+ years of experience working in a DevOps organization

  • 5+ years of managing production systems running RHEL or an equivalent enterprise Linux.

  • Hands-on experience with a configuration management automation platform like Chef or Puppet

  • Familiarity with big data platforms and/or with large-scale distributed systems concepts

  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms like Zabbix, Nagios, or Ganglia

  • Familiarity with a log aggregation and analysis platform like Splunk, Logstash, Graylog2, or Kibana

Expectations:

  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment

  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed

  • Wiling to work on call shifts as needed

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
