As a Senior Technology Architect on the Cerner Imaging team you will lead research and consultation decisions on existing and emerging technologies, processes and support strategies. Cerner Imaging solutions include cardiovascular, radiology, and enterprise imaging workflows that enable diagnostic and procedural imaging workflows within the Enterprise Health Record (EHR).

These are exciting times for the role of Imaging in today’s health environment. Artificial Intelligence shows early success of supplementing the care providers decision making; light-weight and mobile viewing capabilities are needed in our clinician electronic workflows; and the proliferation of images creates needs for massive distribution and scalability of information architectures. It is the role of the Senior Technology Architect to create and implement these capabilities in Cerner and its client’s environments.

You will lead the evaluation of technology innovation and set direction for technology roadmap, implementation and support strategies for technology roadmap and domain architecture, and define documentation requirements and assist in the preparation of proper documentation compliant with standard operating procedures. You will manage definition of user needs, and provide input to functional design, testing, troubleshooting and basic system management. You will also assess risks and implement mitigation strategies within the technology architecture and collaborate with business development, IP development and partner stakeholders to align. Basic Qualifications

  • Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position

  • Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information System, Management Information System or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 6 years of system engineering or technical consulting work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of complex, full-cycle technology implementation work experience

  • At least 5 years of systems management, implementation and operations work experience for client/server applications

  • At least 2 years of Cerner Millennium working experience

  • At least 2 years of diagnostic imaging working experience


  • Willing to travel up to 20% as needed

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
