GFI Digital Inc. Operations Analyst in Maryland Heights, Missouri
The DigitalNET Operations Analyst is responsible for is responsible for performing all operational processes and procedures, ensuring that all IT services and infrastructure meet operational targets. The IT Operations Analyst runs and monitors infrastructure components for all applications, backups, systems, and hardware. In addition, this role is responsible for contributing to first-level monitoring and technical support for our IT systems, effective and efficient investigation, logging, and troubleshooting of customer problems, incident triage and prioritization, and utilizing and contributing to a knowledge base of support solutions.
- Responsible for working through DigitalNET’s ticketing system to monitor, manage, and support all DigitalNet customer environments to include servers, backups, networking equipment, and storage.
Systems monitoring, daily assurance tasks, operational response, and ticket documentation, assignment, and resolution.
Performing problem determination, impact assessment, and general issue support.
Ensuring that all production site and service outages are addressed expediently in accordance with corporate policies, including initial remediation, task prioritization, and relevant communication to responders, stakeholders, and management
Regularly updating a knowledge base and documentation repository.
Assisting with the monitoring all implementations for unexpected errors.
Ensuring that customer backups are successful and troubleshooting if not
Ensuring that customer’s servers are patch according to GFI compliance and Microsoft compliance.
Troubleshoot and support operating systems,
Troubleshoot and support network equipment such as switches, firewalls and/or wireless access points
Troubleshoot and support storage solutions
Troubleshoot and support DigitalNet’s backup solutions.
Troubleshoot and support server hardware and Windows Server operating systems
Troubleshoot and support server virtualization such as; Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare
Strong documentation skills
Keen attention to detail
Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
Work with a mentor to help develop skillset and GFI DigitalNet values
1-3 years of technical support and operations experience in a professional environment· Demonstrated proficiency setting up and administering monitoring applications, and backup applications
- Experience configuring, managing, and utilizing a variety of Microsoft Windows platforms
and tools (Microsoft certification desired)· Excellent critical analysis skills and an ability to thoroughly and efficiently examine system output, configuration, and data setup to identify and solve technical problems. · Ability to calmly make sound, consistent, and thoughtful decisions under pressure · Flexibility, commitment, and capacity to work both independently and as part of a team, including working on-call nights and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a positive, helpful attitude
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science preferred. Industry certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco and other is a plus but not required.
DigitalNET Operations Engineer must be dependable, adaptable, as well as customer service focused. This position interacts with customers on the phone and thru our ticking system, strong written and verbal skills are required. Collaboration with peers to problem solve and find the best solution and outcomes for DigitalNET’s clients is a must.
This is an in office position with less than 5% travel. Must be available for On-Call support. This position may require the engineer to work 2nd shift. This role may require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. The ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects such as computer equipment and peripherals. May require climbing of ladders or working in confined spaces such as under desks, data closets, etc.
