GEHA Intern, Corporate Communications in Lee’s Summit, Missouri

The GEHA Summer Internship Program is designed to provide the following to students:

Program starts on June 7, 2021 and ends August 13, 2021

SKILLS

GEHA has an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Communication Intern who possesses the ability to take content from inception to publication using everyday language. The intern will be asked to flex both their technical and creative writing skills to engage different both internal and external audiences.

Potential projects would include:

  • Develop internal articles and assist with executive communications

  • Work on strategy and creation of digital content to promote GEHA’s community relations activities

  • Assist with drafting and editing press releases

  • Support the promotion of both internal and community-focused events using communication and/or marketing best practices

  • Assist with creating engaging PowerPoint presentations

  • Assist with creating a content strategy for intranet communications

Additional duties will be determined by the department sponsor.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3.0 overall GPA

  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Good analytical skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Demonstrated initiative both independently and within a team

  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook and Word
