System Intern - Current Intern
When hired into the System Intern Program, you reap big benefits. During your internship, you will gain insights into Cerner’s support methodology that will prepare you for a long-term, meaningful career with Cerner. Cerner System Engineers support the backbone through which all of Cerner technology runs.
As a System Intern, you’ll work with your team as they design, install, implement and support technology infrastructures capable of managing and protecting health and financial information from around the world. You’ll work on real project work analyzing system requirements, designing information flow and implementing processes. You may also take part in the design and implementation of data interfaces and installation of non-Cerner information systems. Your team’s end goal is a system built for optimal performance, recoverability and availability.

Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Actively participating in Cerner’s 2020 Summer Internship Program
- Academic coursework with exposure to applicable operating system and database technologies (Linux, Unix, Windows, SQL, etc.)
U.S. work authorization required
Relocation to the Kansas City metropolitan area for the duration of the internship (temporary housing available)
Ability to work 40 hours per week
Active participation in Cerner’s Summer Internship Program
