C.H. Robinson Sr. Yield Management Analyst in Kansas City, Missouri

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Yield Management Analyst is responsible for the identification and analysis of volume and net revenue opportunities within the LTL service line. This position will leverage new and existing tools and reports to monitor profitability trends across our NAST business. They will work closely within internal service line teams to identify solutions to identified areas of opportunity. This role will partner with commercial leadership to bring awareness to those opportunities, present solutions, and gain buy in on recommendations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Utilize new and existing tools and reports to monitor existing business and create actionable insights and solutions

  • Identify accounts with declining volume, adjusted gross profit/file or overall AGP

  • Ensure accounts are reviewed for annual price increases, working with commercial teams to complete timely negotiations for market level increases.

  • Proactively lead account management review to identify areas of poor performance at an account level

  • Identify areas of improvement and partner with internal teams to create solutions

  • Partner with commercial leadership to bring awareness to opportunity areas and proposed recommendations

  • Possess, utilize, and reinforce a deep understanding of available tools and systems to advance processes and automation

  • Identify overall account health parameters and “appropriate” thresholds at customer segment level

  • Understand award commitments from both customer and carrier

  • Develop routines to identify, assess, and drive opportunity on loser loads

  • Partner with LTL senior leadership to update network on regular basis regarding impactful changes to AGP action items

  • Partner with the analytics team to create consist tools and reports that drives transparency and can track, measure, and analyze LTL performance trends by carrier and customer

  • Partner with LTL Business Development Managers and LTL Service Center leadership to drive consistent operating protocol around LTL commercial engagement and transparency

  • Lead change management efforts through strong influence and communication to inspire adoption of identified solutions

  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of supply chain and logistics market experience with an emphasis on LTL

  • Working knowledge of reporting tools (SQL, PowerBI, Excel Tools)

  • Strong working knowledge of LTL pricing, carrier base rates and CHRW sell rates, fuel surcharges, accessorial and rules

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs

Preferred:

  • Experience using business and data analytics to drive continuous improvement, understanding the relationship between efficiency and risk

  • Working knowledge of CHRW Navisphere and Contract Manager

  • Ability to build strong relationships with external partners and across all levels of the organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to the appropriate audience

  • Strong strategic orientation, business savvy, critical thinking skills, negotiation skills, and ability to evaluate broad impacts of work

  • Demonstrated experience influencing without authority, and ability to proactively collaborate in a thriving in a fast-paced, decentralized, matrixed, global environment
