The Senior Red Team Engineer will work as a member of H&R Block Adversary Modeling and Intelligence (AMI) program. The AMI team is an amalgamation of Red Team activities with Cyber Threat Intelligence that continuously enhances the abilities of H&R Block through research, testing, and validation. Members of the AMI program will work with other security and non-security H&R Block teams, to provide valuable threat intelligence, first party penetration testing services, and specific Red Team operations. Additionally, members of the AMI program will be available for consult to other H&R Block teams requiring a security adversary perspective on projects or development tasks.

The Senior Red Team Engineer will be a key contributor to the AMI team through:

  • Performing internal and external tests of applications and systems ethically and according to scope

  • Performing cyber, physical, and blended threat operations to test various attack vectors of H&R Block

  • Subject Matter Expert in various types of penetration test, covert and non-covert operations, and tools

  • Technical support including mitigation and remediation of internal, external, audit, and compliance findings

  • Assist in adversary modeling and constructing tests based on those models

  • Provide timely and accurate reports on findings and team metrics

  • Assist in development of automation and orchestration scripts, tools, and resources to enhance Red Team capabilities

  • Mentor junior AMI team members

What you'll bring to the team... :


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience


  • At least 5 years of experience in security related profession

  • At least 3 years of experience in offensive security

  • Extended knowledge and experience in Information Technology, Information Security, and Compliance

  • Expertise in Red/Purple Team exercises, from planning to reporting

  • Experience with web and system exploits, tools, and frameworks

  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages

  • Proficient in various system and network based technologies
