Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Logistics Specialist works closely with Federal Team Leaders and interagency partners in support NNSA’s Nuclear Incident Response mission to provide operational logistics, communications, equipment maintenance, and operations support.

  • Performs as team/project leader for key operational program components and serves as the focal point for equipment management, field deployment operations, program requirements implementation and reporting

  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships between NNSA and other government agencies to include international partners

  • Evaluates, implements and directs all required tasking provided from the external customer and program/resource management

  • Maintain communication with organization program leads to ensure adequate equipment configuration, operational readiness and addition/deletion of various mission essential support equipment

  • Deploy to CONUS and OCONUS locations in support of training events, exercises, drills and real world events

  • Fill on·call position on a weekly rotational basis to maintain 24/7 coverage of nuclear emergency response programs to ensure 100% operational readiness

  • Deploy and perform tasks in radiation environments at forward locations that require in·depth knowledge with Radiological Worker II requirements and maintain required medical qualifications

  • Provide deployment and field operations utilizing both classified and unclassified computing and communications systems

  • Deploys (CONUS and OCONUS) as the primary logistician and secure communications expert during planned events, no‐notice exercises, and real world events

  • Maintains primary accountability for classified, COMSEC equipment, vaults and safes

  • Maintains security presence for classified and COMSEC equipment

  • Assists the Federal Team Leader with deployment of new nuclear incident response equipment

  • Performs equipment maintenance and equipment inventory

  • Be able to move items greater than 35 pounds

This position is located in Woodbridge, Virginia

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related technical discipline or Five (5) or more years of job-related experience.

  • US Citizenship needed to obtain and maintain required US Dept of Energy "Q" level security clearance and/or higher level clearance.

  • Ability to successfully complete and maintain Rad Worker II status/certification

We Value:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related technical discipline prefered

  • Strong technical knowledge of secure communications equipment and networks

  • WMD/EOD experience

  • Knowledge of the National Response Framework and understanding of the National Incident Management System

  • Familiar with the infrastructure and agencies that support emergency preparedness and national security

  • Logistical knowledge and ability to track equipment physically and through a database, perform failure trend analysis, complete annual inventories, etc

  • Strong proven written and oral communication skills

  • Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
