Federal Reserve Bank Senior SQA Analyst in Kansas City, Missouri

Job Summary:

The Bank is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance professional to develop, support and deliver manual and automated testing strategies and solutions for large-scale applications. This role requires collaborating with business and technical staff to gather and analyze data, requirements, and test cases to help create greater test efficiency and coverage. This role additionally requires writing of test plans and scripts, tracking and facilitating defect resolution, and applying analytical problem solving skills throughout the testing process.

Key Activities:

  • Actively participates in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Develops and applies quality assurance testing practices and measures for moderately complex software throughout the development/product lifecycle in alignment with System, Bank, department and industry standards.

  • Cultivates and shares knowledge of quality assurance best practices.

  • Develops and maintains test automation processes in alignment with the project and/or organization’s standards and tools.

  • Develops and maintains automation plans, frameworks, scripts and metrics for functional, regression and integration tests.

  • Performs manual and exploratory testing as needed.

  • Initiates Change Requests (CRs) as appropriate to capture defects and enhancements identified during the testing process, and track existing or potential issues along with a recommended course of action and/or options.

  • Participates in and facilitate daily meetings to communicate progress and barriers to completing application development and testing goals.

  • Collaborates with the development and configuration management teams for deployments into the test environments.

  • Establishes and adheres to quality assurance guidelines and standards as defined by the project and/or organization requesting testing services.

  • Enters and reports all daily activities using status tracking tools as required.

  • Prepares and analyzes test results to aid in problem solving and facilitate decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in software engineering, computer science, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experience in a field related to software development required.

  • Software quality assurance certification from an industry recognized organization such as the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®) or QAI Global Institute preferred.

  • Six years of direct experience as a tester for major application integration and/or major application product release required.

  • Proficient in the understanding and application of Quality Assurance best practices and methodologies, along with proven experience in applying standards on major projects and product releases.

  • Proficient in writing test plans and test cases.

  • Proficient in understanding written requirements, including use cases and supplementary specifications.

  • Proficient in the understanding and application of change management, software packaging and deployment concepts.

  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a geographically dispersed team in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • 2 years experience with Selenium 2 (webdriver).

  • 2 years experience programming in object-oriented language, Java would be preferred language.

  • Experience working with Cucumber.

  • Experience working with TestNG, Junit, NUnit.

  • Experience working with Excel and Apache POI.

  • Experience working with data-driven and keyword driven testing frameworks.

  • Preferred experience with Selenium Grid, Subversion, Maven, Integrated Development Environment tool like: Eclipse or Microsoft Visual Studio.

  • Advanced experience in developing and executing SQL statements for testing and validation.

    This position requires additional Treasury screening due to the information accessed while performing the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance. Employment can begin before the full screenings are completed; however, continued employment is contingent on acceptable screening results.

United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident alien status with at least three or more years of United States residency from the date of legal entry to the United States is required for this position.
