One of Kansas City’s fastest-growing companies is looking for a Salesforce Technical Lead to join our ranks. We are shifting more and more of our tech focus to Salesforce platforms and need an experienced, self-motivated technical lead to pave the way. This is an exciting ground-floor opportunity at a leading company and in this role, you will have a substantial impact on how our Salesforce development happens.

As our Salesforce Technical Lead, you will be a department thought leader working with a team of Salesforce developers and administrators of varying skill and level to design, develop, test, and maintain enhancements to the Salesforce platform. You will be expected to support all technical aspects of the team, ensure alignment of technical direction, and to continuously expand upon your own industry knowledge in order to help the team grow and develop.

Our ideal candidate shows initiative and is passionate for pushing the boundaries of software technologies to find original, inventive solutions for users to connect and interact with information. You will have a hands-on role in both developing and managing technology road maps, with the objective of strengthening or establishing company-wide systems and strategies.

What You’ll Do:

The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the team’s Salesforce subject matter expert and assist in reviewing and improving department processes, as needed.

  • Utilize advanced technical knowledge and expertise to provide direction, coaching (in technologies, languages, frameworks, etc.), mentorship, and technical development to a team of engineers with varying skill levels.

  • Execute leadership's technical Salesforce engineering goals and vision, resolve technical disagreements, and manage the technical quality of team deliverables.

  • Develop Salesforce solutions while demonstrating an expert proficiency with Force.com (including the capabilities and limitations of governor limits, a thorough understanding of Salesforce configuration (workflows, process builders, flows, approval processes, outbound messages and email alerts and customization (Apex, VisualForce, AURA and LWC components, SFDX, SOQL and SOSL).

  • Understand business issues and needs related to Salesforce to help create effective processes, procedures, and tools to resolve or manage them.

  • Assist leadership with recruitment and training needs.

  • Assist leadership with monitoring the team’s daily work participation to ensure smooth team operations, effective collaboration, and appropriate Salesforce development and administrative practices are being followed.

  • Apply best practices and design patterns of best-of-breed applications developed on the Salesforce.com platform.

  • Support tooling and technical debt improvements and the evolution of Salesforce to meet ever changing business and environment needs.

  • Review and manage the quality of the codebase platform as it evolves.

  • Design and build solutions for performance optimizations, including driving discussions that broaden future architectural choices, collaborate with infrastructure and other engineering teams to understand changes, and to ensure solutions fit within the broader company ecosystem.

  • Ensure code review healthiness by promoting collaboration, spreading knowledge, introducing quantitative measurements, etc.

  • Inspire and motivate team members to achieve both team and individual goals.

  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions.

  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation methods, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

  • Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards and programming.

  • Provide requested information and reporting to leadership by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

    What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, or other related field OR equivalent relevant work experience

  • 6+ years in a software engineering role

  • Advanced technical skill and proficiency in Apex, VisualForce, SQL, Lightening Web Components, and Salesforce APIs ( including REST API, Metadata API, Bulk API)

  • Strong ability to conduct data modeling and database schema using Standard and Custom objects

  • Advanced experience with at least one industry standard source control platform (i.e., GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, Amazon CodeCommit) with the Salesforce code base

  • Passion for great technologies, especially open source

  • Attention to detail and accuracy with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Self-motivated individual that collaborates well with other technical and non-technical staff

  • Strong troubleshooting skills
