About This Job

As a PMO PM Manager, you will be responsible for overall management of a team of Project Managers within larger IT PMO, who utilize both Tradition and Agile methods to lead IT projects. This person will need not only deep experience in Project Management, but also strong Mentoring and Coaching skills and experience to support PMs on their Team. The person will need experience in relationship building and professional network building to build successful foundations throughout the Enterprise. A key attribute of this person is Servant Leadership in dedicating the developing their Team as well as their own Leaderships skills

Essential Functions

  • Engage in Blue Chip Projects at a Leadership level to achieve alignment among Leadership team and provide guidance, direction and vision to both Executive Sponsors and working level team

  • Manage workflow assignments and capacity of team members in alignment with individuals and Portfolio Planning activities

  • Lead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy through their day to day activities and special engagements

  • Provide performance coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needs

  • Design, manage and own specific reporting activities for PMO within IT Operating Committee

  • Collaborate with other leaders in the PMO and IT to develop and continuously improve critical processes and introduce creative productivity solutions

  • Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as required

  • Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectively

  • Support budget management, planning and expenditure

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM

Knowledge Skills & Abilities Required

  • Experience building strategic partnerships with Leaders and Stakeholders

  • Ability to plan and manage time effectively for yourself and your team members

  • Strong knowledge of the project management, including best practices

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems

  • Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to empowerment, collaboration and unified goals

  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

  • Agile (CA) and/or Scrum (SCM) and/or S.A.F.E Certification preferred

  • Management and Leadership of influential roles, resources and individual leaders

  • 2+ years Management and Leadership

  • Leading medium to large scale IT Projects, to meet business and technology scope and strategy

  • 3+ years of Agile/Scrum methodology experience

  • 4+ years of Waterfall methodology experience

  • 2+ years of information technology experience

  • Experience as Manager/Leader in financial services industry preferred

  • Experience as PM or SM in financial services industry preferred
