To achieve our results, we recruit the best and brightest employees who ask, listen and solve to meet our customers’ needs!About the Role:Reporting to the Commercial LOB Channel Marketing Manager, the Event Marketing Specialist will be responsible for directing cross-functional teams in support of an event, or series of events. He or she will consult with Content and Channel Marketing team on strategy and positioning, theme, messaging of the Commercial LOB brand position, products and services at tradeshows, conferences, seminars, special events, internal meetings, etc. About the Team:The Channel Marketing team at Commerce Bank is highly interconnected, agile and works in collaboration with the Commercial Content Marketing Team, Corporate Marketing Teams, Sales and Product Teams as well as Executive Leadership. This group supports a number of key functions to deliver on differentiated messaging and positioning across several Commercial business lines and segments. Overall, the Channel Marketing Team helps internal clients (Product and Sales Teams) to better understand the value of marketing by delivering marketing support grounded in achieving results based on the alignment of business goals and performance data.Core Responsibilities:• Manage event calendar and all communication with internal teams pre and post event. Develops project status updates and final reports.• Manage the execution of marketing communications tactics pre, during and post event that may include email, mobile apps, online ads, landing pages, print collateral, direct mail, newsletters, event signage, and social media• Coordinates space reservations and contract negotiations for tradeshows, corporate and customer/prospect related events.• Coordinates deliverables with marketing and creative strategy teams including graphics, literature, advertising, promotional items, etc.• Coordinates conference details such as registration, exhibitor kits, exhibits and equipment, sales tools, attire and promotional items. • For meeting and proprietary events, works with location to coordinate food and beverage, room setup, audio visual, and all other meeting logistics.• Develops ROI benchmarks for assigned events. In conjunction with the Marketing Automation team, coordinates distribution of tradeshow leads through salesforce. Consults sales leaders and though leaders on sales follow-up, post event lead activities and measurement checkpoints. • Create event status reports for management.• Researches tradeshows, events and promotional sponsorship opportunities that support the LOB’s strategic direction and provide necessary recommendations.• Compiles cost estimates, manages and tracks event budgets.• Educates and influences internal and external partners on corporate brand standards and brand position messaging to ensure all communications are consistent and deliver the brand strategy.• Build solid relationships and provide continual communications with the various marketing teamsWork Hours: Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)College degree in marketing, advertising, or communications. Have a strong, mature understanding of the B2B environment. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years marketing experience in a corporate event project management environment. Must be highly organized and have proven project management skills, excellent verbal/written communications skills. Must understand business needs/competitive environment/financial analysis, ROI, profitability and be able to complete business case justifications. Work well in dynamic, very fast-paced environment. Must know Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Desired Skills:• Strong experience in event planning, strategy and execution. Ability to stay calm under pressure, resilient to set-backs• Demonstrated high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.• Understanding of basic CRM concepts and background of B2B email marketing campaigns• Positive Attitude and team player, capable to interact with multiple stakeholders externally and internally• Roll up your sleeves and get work done attitude• Proven effectiveness with communicating pre, during and post event activation strategies with sales teams• Pragmatic, action-oriented self-starter, independent, energetic, team player, able to quickly integrate into our environment • Strong writing and editorial skills; proven ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and succinctly • Self-directed to manage complex and multiple projects concurrently • Creative thinker, ability to implement and execute others ideas and also come up with own personal thinking • Experienced in developing marketing collateral, branding, communications, or other marketing initiatives • Skilled in MS Office Suite • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and networking skills • Flexibility to travel as needed
