Lead Software Engineer

Provides technical expertise to strategize and execute performance tests and establish performance engineering standards across major client facing applications and tax platforms .Works closely with multiple supporting teams like cloud engineering, engineering, network engineering , security , application dev , QA and business owners to tune critical apps to provide high reliability and stability for all applications across H&R Block
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Gather performance requirements from application business owners and dev teams
Strategize performance tests based on requirements
Creates and maintains documentation of design approaches
Creates and maintains documentation on internal architecture of the system. Leads architectural changes in the system.
Identifies product design features to support scalability, usability and better performance.
Assists and drives technical design and code reviews for all new enhancements and maintenance work delivered by the development team.
Establish performance engineering best practices across the board
Participate and contribute on capacity planning activities
Mentors and coaches other team members on the latest technological advances within the current technology used. Leads by example.

- Experience in performance testing and tuning Azure and AWS platforms
What you'll bring to the team... :
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience.
8 years Minimum related work experience
Knowledge of the following test and analysis tools. Neoload, AppDynamics, CA Service Virtualization, jMeter, Selenium, ADO, and MSTest.
Demonstrate proven knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipeline integration for testing.
Firm understanding of .NET, Java, Angular, SOA Architecture, Web-based, SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres and Network tuning opportunities.
Great planning and communication skills.
Very flexible and easily adapts to change.
Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Experience in data and process modeling of business requirements.
Demonstrated effective time management, planning and organization skills with the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks, projects and priorities in a fast-paced matrix-managed environment.
Experience using software applications such as Visio, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills necessary to communicate and persuade a wide range of audiences.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop creative solutions to assigned projects.
