WABTEC Field Service Technician in Kansas City, Missouri
Wabtec Global Servicesis seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Kansas City, MO. This position will be full-time, benefits eligible on day 1 of employment! Wabtec Global Services offers competitive pay and excellent benefits, including medical, dental and 401k.
TheField Service Technicianwill be responsible for providing support to the customer at their assigned location (in Kansas City). He / She will provide assistance with the application of modifications, installations, loading software and providing direction to the customer on the application of modifications as needed. The Field Service Technician is expected to perform troubleshooting to properly identify root cause on failed systems and properly document each instance.
Compile reports as needed for management.
Interface with customers and other business units.
Set priorities and ensure customer needs are met.
Problem Solving / Troubleshooting.
Properly document work completed in the Repair Tracking System.
Attend meetings as scheduled or when required.
Provide assistance as required for special projects, installations, and testing as identified by Wabtec Global Services (New products or services).
Control / Develop or assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Communicate on a technical level with engineering (both written and verbal).
Work with a minimum amount of supervision.
Ensure Quality and Performance responsibilities are followed.
Be available for 24/7 – hour/day technician support.
Provide assistance to Wabtec Marketing with new products, or services as required Wabtec Global Services.
Serve as change agency by stimulating, communicating and institutionalizing business initiatives.
Associates in Electronics Technologyor
Experience with electromechanical diesel technology
Language skills: must be able to undershand, speak and write the English language fluently. Technical writing skills required for internal and external documentation. Communicate in a professional manner with customer, co-workers, and management.
Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense and logical progression to sove challenging problems. Ability to comprehend instructions, specification, and policy communicated in written, oral, and/ or diagram form.
Technical Ability: Knowledge of computer peripherals. Ability to read and interpret documents such as Technical Drawing, Schematics, Test Procedures, and Engineering Specifications. Possess excellent problem solving skills relating to analyzing/troubleshooting electrical and pneumatic systems.
Experience with troubelshooting electronic or pneumatic systems.
Experience with configuring software on computers
Exhibit strong written, organizational and verbal communication skills.
Possess a positive attitude with an ability to transfer knowledge to others.
Typing ability to complete forms electronically.
Experience in Microsoft office applications.
Complete a backgrond investigation as part of the selection process.
Complete a drug test as part of the selection process.
