Writer/Editor - Justice Research and Victim Services
Writer/Editor will provide writing and editing support across the Justice Research and Victim Services portfolio.
The Writer/Editor works closely with the Instructional Designers to ensure all training material content is clear, readable, and complete; and may suggest and offer rewrites when needed.
Assist with writing, editing, fact-checking, and formatting aspects of curricula and training materials for online and in-person trainings.
Training materials may include manuals and all associated worksheets, handouts, appendices, evaluation forms, agendas, and PowerPoint presentations for online and in-person training events.
Track incoming writing and editing requests from projects on a daily basis
Ensure editorial quality control for all types of materials, from one paragraph to 200 pages of written text, graphics, tables, and more
The writer/editor will create products to post in Virtual Library, ready to be submitted to Reprographics for printing.
Education and Experience
Minimum 2 years writing and editing required, preferably in a federal contracting environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite primarily, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Adobe, and graphic programs, spreadsheets, presentation software packages is required.
The client's style guide is a variation of GPO, so a good working knowledge of the GPO Manual of Style is critical.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; solid command of the English language with advanced verbal and written communication skills
Effective time-management skills with emphasis on quality and timely completion of tasks; demonstrated knowledge of office procedures; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
Special considerations and complexities related to this position include frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced environment; and interaction with high-level personnel, both within the project and the client office.
