Responsibilities:

  • Manage team members in software development practices including design, coding, and configuration of IT systems. Must ensure adherence to technical specifications, architectural design, and end-user requirements.

  • Independently estimate complex projects and determine resource needs based on team work load and project requirements.

  • Understand the concepts of software craftsmanship and ensure engineers adhere to these principles.

  • Effectively set individual and team goals, coach engineers to in achieving goals as well as career growth.

  • Work with product owners to understand application requirements. Work with other application teams to identify opportunities for collaboration and to establish common standards.

  • Manage a continuous improvement program to improve quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. Establish test automation practices including unit testing and implementation of CI/CD.

  • Be passionate about technology, stay on top of technology trends and encourage innovation.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience.

  • 3+ years of people management experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • Experience with IT architecture and design concepts; product/software development lifecycle; project management; and planning, design, and problem resolution.

  • Experience with managing others and applying management principles to practical work situations; manage projects and programs.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Team building and conflict resolution skills

  • Strong ability to resolve complex problems and issues. Delegate and assign activities with clear timelines
