I. Position Summary

This position is responsible for the process management of the Continuous Improvement agenda at the Jonesboro facility. This position will be the driver and educator for the Up-skilling and Training requirements, the liaison between Manex and the facility for Continuous Improvement and provide leadership to the dedicated Pillar Champions. As a member of the WCM Team, the incumbent will work closely with on-site Managers. Influencing skills are critical for the success of this position. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting individual WCM Pillars based on their respective Training needs. The position is also responsible for leading and supporting the continuous improvement implementation. This individual will be responsible for motivating and challenging the Continuous Improvement Teams that s/he leads throughout the entire process of data analysis, improvement implementation, data verification, and validation.

Il. Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)

Driving Production Performance and Improvement -

Continuously improving the performance of production units and assets, through ensuring appropriate operator mechanic training and development.

Knowledge and Information Management -

The identification, dissemination and utilization of knowledge to grow the business, create competitive advantage and build the knowledge base of the business. Ensuring the information required by the business is available at the right place, at the right time to the right people.

Outside In -

Prospecting for Supply chain technologies and WCM best practices at sister facilities.

Key Performance Indicators and Systems -

Manage the site's Training Plan, ManEx Self Assessments and Radar charts, Factory Training Scorecard Metrics (monthly), Internal Jonesboro Plant Performance Training Metrics (monthly) and Continuous Improvement. Play a key role in the PD Pillar. Drive system changes as they relate to training. (i.e. Sparkle)

Ill. Challenges

  1. Continuous education of the management team and the site that the training goals are the efficient achievement of the business' KPIs and are not a separate set of responsibilities.

  2. Effective project development, planning, implementation and follow-up are critical to this position as is data management.

  3. Team Leadership PD Pillar

  4. Continuously assessing effectiveness of current programs and seeking ways to improve and/or change where necessary. Keeping abreast of current training technologies, techniques and resources.

  5. Maintaining focus and delivery of objectives through significant factory change (WCM/HR4F). Change management skills are critical for this role.

IV. Scope

The Training Supervisor will lead the Performance and Development Pillar Assessment achievement following ManEx criteria. Will establish the site-training plan in conjunction with Pillar Champions and will manage the Sparkle training system. Will create and maintain site-training matrix, (training done by area representatives). Will identify training needs and opportunities, in conjunction with Human Resources, lead the plant skill assessment process, and gap analysis. Ensure evaluations are completed in a timely fashion and update skills matrix. Work with State agencies on an annual basis to reduce training costs. Conduct leadership and development training for salaried and Team positions. Assist in logistics for plant training activities.

External Relationships -

Training with Corporate WCM/HR4F team Benchmark with other sites.

Projects -

Coordinate training qualifications with external parties as required (e.g. Luminance, General Physics, OEMs) Work with Technology Pillar to coordinate standardized training for new equipment. Improve electronic data collection from floor, eliminate manual data entry from Quality Support. In conjunction with Human Resources and People Development Pillar, create site Technical progression for Operations Technician and Line Maintenance Technician (training and evaluations).

V. Skills & Competencies

Knowledge Education Bachelor's of Science in Technical fields, business, HR or equivalent experience.

Experience 3-5 years manufacturing, HR or related experience.

Skills Training in program design, presentation skills.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Process oriented thinking to plan, implement and execute a step-by-step focused approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people from different cultural backgrounds and education levels is required.

Express ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and written.

Ability to tailor presentation to audience.

Previous department or team leadership experience preferred. Inspires others to reach standards of skill attainment.

Strong team based problem solving and influencing skills required.
