Cardinal Health Project Manager, Strategic Commercialization in Hazelwood, Missouri

The Project/Program Manager will be responsible for managing large-scale, strategic commercialization programs with multi-functional & global core teams. This position will include the planning of all project activities, synchronization of Core Team efforts and management of the overall project schedule, resource requirements, and project budget and progress reporting to senior leadership. The Project/Program Manager is responsible for assisting with developing program objectives from a business case and driving program execution while ensuring compliance to internal and external customer requirements.


  • Managing lifecycle projects and cross functional/multi-disciplined teams
  • Developing strategic plans with product and portfolio managers
  • Ability to present to large executive forums
  • Ability to multi-task in an environment of competing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and experienced in communicating with various levels throughout an organization
  • Can anticipate stakeholder expectations and can effectively communicate program information (status, risks, financials, etc.) and respond to both planned and unplanned queries
  • Demonstrated ability to address under-performing team members / dysfunctional team dynamics and skilled at conflict resolution
  • Gains cooperation and commitment from people through influence

  • Bachelors degree in related field required. Advanced Degree, MBA preferred
  • PMP Certification a plus
  • A minimum of 4+ years related work experience, highly preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated environment preferred (medical, automotive, government)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of business systems (marketing, selling, inventory management, distribution management, legal contracts)
  • Strong understanding of business case development and financial analysis
  • Expert-level Microsoft Project
  • Understanding and evidence of employing standard project management tools and approaches:
  • Scope development and management (guardrail identification)
  • Schedule development/management (critical path focused)
  • Resource prioritization and management to ensure efficient management of the critical path
  • Risk identification, management and implementation of corrective actions
  • Manage projects via a stage-gate process


  • Travel approximately 15%. (Domestic and International)
  • May require early morning or evening calls at times as we work with global teams
