The Boeing Company Principal Ground Control Station System Integrator in Hazelwood, Missouri
The Boeing Company is seeking senior system integrators with experience in autonomous systems for the MQ-25 program. The selected candidate will be the technical point of contact to facilitate the successful integration of the MQ-25 air vehicle (AV) and ground control station (GCS).
Boeing is bringing the future of unmanned aircraft carrier aviation to the U.S. Navy with its MQ-25. An unmanned aircraft system designed for the U.S. Navy mission, it will provide the needed robust refueling capability thereby extending the combat range of deployed Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet, Boeing EA-18G Growler, and Lockheed Martin F-35C fighters.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide technical oversight of system integration activities between the MQ-25 AV and GCS.
Develop, decompose, document, and maintain complex system of system requirements according to war-fighter needs and contractual requirements.
Analyze, translate, and implement system requirements into system architecture and interface definition, capturing traceability throughout the product life-cycle.
Provide technical guidance on design decisions affecting multiple stakeholders both internal and external to Boeing.
Coordinate and engage with subject matter experts, other program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and critical suppliers as appropriate.
Develop statement-of-work and critical technical performance specifications.
Create analysis plans and status progress to plan of integration efforts currently underway.
Resolve complex integration issues and anomalies between the AV and GCS.
Support key technical meetings to facilitate the development and definition of warning, cautions, and advisories, contingency management behavior, human system interfaces, and AV to GCS system interfaces.
Mentor senior integration engineers.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Basic Qualifications (Required skills/experience):
Bachelor Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics is required
Twelve (12) or more years of experience in avionics architecture, integration, or development (SW or HW)
US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R § 120.15 is required.
Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired skills/experience):
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with Open System Architectures (OSA) and associated design principles
Experience with mission systems or platform systems design and integration
Examples include: electrical, hydraulic, fuel, propulsion, sensors, weapons, mission computer, and vehicle management systems
Experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) design, architectures, operational constraints
Experience with Ground Control Systems (GCS) design, architectures, operational constraints
Experience with autonomous vehicle design, architectures, operational constraints
Experience with system-level interface development and definition.
Previous design team or special project team leadership is desired
Ability to direct the development, maintenance, and modification of complex system designs based on requirements.
Experience with failure mode analysis, off-nominal performance, or Contingency Management
Experience with
Knowledge of system security design principles and industry and government guidance and regulations
Experience with DOORS (Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System)
Experience with SysML or UML MBSE modeling tools such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or Rhapsody.
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
