Essential Job Functions: - Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, telecommunication, and navigational aids), personal and main frame computers/ and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.) - Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. - Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. - Requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and review for compliance with accepted practices. - May provide technical guidance and/or supervision to lower level technicians. - Obtains technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. - Interpret wiring diagram and schematics. - Must be able to effectively present hardware, software, and or subsystems problems to design and support engineering teams. Troubleshoots, updates, and configures Linux and Windows based operating systems during replacement and re-configuration of system computers network systems. - Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic/electromechanical equipment and systems, subsystems, local area networks and peripheral workstations. - Utilize common and special purpose test equipment to isolate malfunctions and preformed repair actions. - Performs circuit equipment repair and modifications. - May be required to perform repairs on pneudraulic, hydraulic, and HVAC equipment. Basic Qualifications: - Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and three years minimum work experience in a related discipline or three years related military training or a combination of education and experience. - Three years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / network or training device maintenance. - Two years’ experience with Microsoft office software operation and use. - Must possess good written composition and verbal communication skills, ability to express facts and rationale. - Must be able to obtain/maintain an active/valid US security clearance if required. - Must be able to stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. - Must be able to climb stairs on a daily basis. Work Environment: - Varies depending on site - Must be able to travel to various locations across the U.S. for training.
