American Outdoor Brands Corporation Global Logistics Analyst in Columbia, Missouri

The Global Logistics Analyst supports the distribution and logistics activities of the organization and will report to the Director of Global Transportation. The primary goal of the Global Logistics Analyst is to ensure the flow of material through the entire supply chain, from suppliers, through the AOB distribution center, to the customer, is done in an efficient and acceptable manner; adhering to all service level and regulatory requirements. The day-to-day functions will include a mix of data analysis and the review and coordination of current and future distribution and logistics operations.

Success is measured by a reduction in customer chargebacks, acceptable delivery of orders to customers, and proper implementation and follow-through of current and future logistics compliance activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze vendor routing guides and provide feedback to distribution and logistics management on customer requirements

  • Research charge backs and provide root-cause analysis and corrective action to avoid future occurrences

  • Understand import/export requirements and ensure proper procedures are in place and followed; correct import/export issues on a case by case basis

  • Monitor inbound and outbound freight to ensure successful delivery within customer service requirements

  • Work with cross functional teams to accomplish strategic and tactical goals

  • Analyze distribution activities and suggest process improvements to improve compliance and logistics

  • Analyze freight forwarder options, manage ongoing relationships, report shipment issues, Create and file AES submissions for licensed and non-licensed shipments

  • Support special logistics requirements associated with foreign government contracts

  • Analyze incoterms and their effect on sales programs & revenue recognition

  • Review and analyze international shipping patterns and suggest improvements and alternate shipping methods to best optimize margins for international sales

  • Maintain import/export records for non-licensed shipments per CBP requirements

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Track regulated material shipments and ensure proper delivery to customer; obtaining proof of delivery and researching lost and damaged freight.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field: Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering preferred.

  • 1-2 years of experience in Distribution, Operations, Manufacturing, and/or Supply Chain (3-5 years preferred)

  • Logistics operations/analysis experience preferred

  • Experience working with internal/external customers

  • Experience implementing, managing, and completing complex, multi-functional projects

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications; strong user of Excel

  • Familiarity with the requirements involved when shipping firearms is preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.

  • Some work is required in "off-hours" for business needs

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.

  • Ability to move about facility on regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting (up to 20 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.

  • Visual and hearing acuity.

  • Travel Requirement: 5-10%
