Oracle Sr. Director, Cloud Solution Retail Services in Chesterfield, Missouri

Provides direction, leadership, and specialist knowledge to Cloud Solution team in designing, demonstrating and deploying Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Guides team to drive Oracle Cloud customer consumption through accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services.

Directs and manages resources, through managers, to work with customers, sales, engineering, and product teams to design and implement solutions for customers. Participates in the development and communicates business objectives and metrics to team. Sets objectives, implements plans, ensures attainment of business strategy. Manages the implementation of solutions and ensures successful deployments including code development and scripting. Oversees the support of customers from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment, resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. May assist in developing solutions strategy on Oracle cloud solutions and technology to assist in gathering requirements, developing architectures and translating business needs into solutions. May assist in strategic direction on technical cloud solutions and customer success. May create and distribute technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. May deliver presentation demonstrations to high level customers and at conferences and events. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Acts as spokesperson for Oracle cloud and an escalation path for relationships. Ensures team members maintain productive relationships for successful design and implementation of solutions. Builds trusted relationships with customers, sales, engineering, and other pillar counterparts.

Minimum qualifications include: 12 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic. Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 12 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. 7 or more years of previous relevant technical management experience with computer applications and tools, including 2 or more of years as a second level manager. 2 or more years participation in the development of short, medium and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives in the field of computer applications and tools. 2 or more years of experience interacting across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; Influencing thinking or gaining acceptance of others; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 12 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sr. Director of North America Cloud Engineering for Retail is responsible for providing leadership to a team chartered with accelerating pipeline and cloud consumption for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services, workloads and use-cases for customers in the Retail space. Strong technology exposure and understanding in the Retail industry is a must, blended with strong pre-sales/sales acumen. The Director’s team consists of highly skilled cloud engineers that blend industry experience and deep subject matter expertise to solve the hardest customer issues in the context of strategic sales engagements. The teams’ responsibilities include thoroughly understanding customers’ business requirements, leading the technical pursuits required to capture cloud bookings and assisting in the customer adoption of Oracle’s Cloud capabilities.

In addition, this leader will have a unique perspective based on technology trends and business drivers in the Retail industry vertical. This leader will contribute to key business decisions and customer engagement strategies and initiatives. This leader will be a vital contributor to our overall Cloud Solution Engineering team. S/he must develop a comprehensive strategy and drive results by:

  • Engaging with Key Industry customers to provide unique domain expertise, co-design products and solutions

  • Help Customers transform and evolve their business through the use of OCI and Oracle SaaS services.

  • Define product strategy and go-to-market (GTM) model, helping bring the industry value proposition to life for customers

  • Use domain expertise and analyze industry trends to inform product roadmaps, create GTM design and coordinate as needed for emerging products.

S/he will have demonstrated successful expertise with a cloud product technology company. The successful candidate will be technically adept, possessing a broad combination of skills and experiences reflecting the complexities of Oracle and Oracle’s customers. This role requires technical cloud subject matter expertise and the capability to influence critical and timely transformational change for our customers.

  • 10 years of manager experience leading and directing teams with many members located remotely and others that support success through a matrixed environment.
