Oracle Software Developer 4 in Chesterfield, Missouri

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience. This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado. Oracle Exadata powers the Oracle cloud, and mission critical Oracle private clouds at numerous enterprise customers The Exadata team is hiring devops engineers with knowledge of coding languages and principles required to find problems and build innovative solutions. * Typical Responsibilities include; * Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure * Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers * Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes * Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats * Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’ * Collaborate to create well-thought-out software designs * Assist with build and deployment automation scripts * Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues * Evaluate next generation Operating system, CPU, Memory, Flash, NVRAM, RDMA and emerging technologies We are looking for Developers with 4 years of experience to design, develop, test and innovative solutions; * Strong communication skills * Capability of collaborating with different groups and organizations. * Shell scripting * Python * Linux * Networking * System administration and/or database administration with some programming experience will also help. * Preferred: Candidates having Database or System Administration experience interested in building products.
