As part of the global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure team, you will solve challenging technical problems; identify improvements and work on implementing your recommendations. You will work directly with other cross-functional engineers to deliver and operate solutions that will deliver outstanding experiences to our stakeholders with superb reliability and performance.

This is a key role within the OCI Operations Development Ticketing team with a strong emphasis in building solutions that support the delivery of incident and problem management. We are looking for an extremely capable engineer who has a strong background in engineering world-class services and applications. The individual will be hands on in the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and production operations of the overall service delivery architecture.

Qualified applicants will have a strong background in computer science, excellent understanding of databases, strong service-oriented engineering experience, and a keen understanding of high volume and real time systems. In this role you will need to:

  • Take ownership for the architecture, analysis, design, implementation and operations of Java-based solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS CS or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

5 years of software development experience in Java, PHP, Groovy, Ruby

Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals

Mastery of at least one systems language and at least one scripting language (e.g. Java and Python, C /perl, or similar)

Proficiency working in a Linux environment

Expertise in building highly-scalable distributed solutions with Java, including JMS, containers, etc.

Experience with continuous integration/continuous development solutions such as Jenkins, Hudson, and Puppet.

Preferred Qualifications:

Atlassian JIRA SW, JIRA Service Desk, and Confluence experience or similar application experience

Prior experience architecting and operating large scale systems/services, particularly focused on APIs or tools development at scale

Some familiarity with systems administration or DevOps/SRE experience
