Oracle Director of Product Management, AI Services (JoinOCI-PPM) in Chesterfield, Missouri

Manage people for product development programs or projects focused on the delivery of a product through the design process, and into a finished state for external customers.

Manage people for product development programs or projects involving department or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product or computer-based system through the design process, and into a finished state for external customers. Plan and direct resource schedules as well as project budgets. Monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with customer on technical matters. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area preferred. Prefer seven years of project management, product design or related experience.

Your Opportunity

The AI services team is looking for a Director of Product Management who can take a key role in defining the next generation of AI services for OCI. You will be the product leader defining the product vision, strategy and go-to-market, working with our customers to understand their vision and requirements. You will partner closely with our engineering, data science, research, UX, field & marketing to build products that customers need and love.

Your Responsibilities

As part of the *OCI Data & AI Product Management *team, you will be responsible for developing innovative AI services for our customers. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Define product strategy and roadmap to deliver a product that our customers love

  • Define and analyze key engagement and quality of service metrics

  • Have a deep understanding of the AI market and industry trends

  • Ability to work across teams in a large organization

  • Being enthusiastic, self-motivated, and a great collaborator

  • Be our product evangelist - engage directly with customers and partners, participate and present in external events and conferences, etc.

  • Hire an outstanding team of product managers. Proven ability to motivate, align, and manage high performing, happy and empowered teams.

Your Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in program / product management

  • At least 5 years of management experience in program / product management or software engineering

  • Experience translating customer needs into innovative and detailed product requirements for customer-facing online products/services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field

  • Experience with machine learning / artificial intelligence and understanding of how to apply them to real world problems is a strong plus

  • Exceptional ability to negotiate and collaborate across groups to achieve customer success

  • Customer focus with experience working with enterprise customers and developers

  • Proven track record of successfully releasing enterprise-level cloud services and defining new offerings from ideation, to definition, delivery, launch, and multi-generational releases.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
