Digital Workflow Expert


The primary responsibilities of this role, Digital Workflow Expert, are to:

  • Support prioritized digital Reg Science workflow projects, ensure their efficient operative implementation and their proper integration into the overall digital landscape;

  • Explore modern and innovative technologies;

  • Develop experimental proof of concept workflow solutions as part of technology evaluation;

  • Drive the use of central platforms for development and deployment of digital workflows serving business needs, freeing resources and enabling innovation;

  • Gain understanding of existing systems and define the path of their integration into the overall digital workflow ecosystem;

  • Translate processes and user needs into requirements for software developers;

  • Serve as a bridge between Reg Science expert groups and internal/(external) partner Information Technology, ensuring consistent operation mode.


Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with at least seven years of relevant experience in a quantitative scientific field (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering) in the area of applied mathematics, data science or life sciences with strong focus on digitally enabled workflows and several years of relevant experience or Master of Science with at least five years of relevant experience or Ph.D. with at least two years of relevant experience;

  • Experience in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google) and development of digital workflows and applications therein;

  • Expert knowledge in integration of systems, Application Programming Interfaces and data sources;

  • Workflow mapping and modelling skills;

  • Knowledge of modern high-level programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, R);

  • Understanding of JSON and markup languages such as XML or YAML;

  • Excellent communication skills and capability to understand and translate expert user needs into sustainable digital product concepts and solutions;

  • Team player and lifelong learner with flexible and open-minded spirit, with the drive to transform the digital environment;

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
