Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Quality SystemsTechnician for day shift, 7 am to 3 pm, for our Branch One location.
Intimate knowledge of the manufacturing process used by the company.
Product familiarity, including the product structures.
Good computer skills.
Good communication skills.
Ability to exemplify a cooperative attitude necessary to work with all departments and management team.
Ability to perform in a fast paced environment.
Some Knowledge of SPC, continuous improvement and total productive management.
Ability to understand graphical data representations.
Ability to occasionally lift and handle heavy bed units weighting up to 80‐90 lbs.
Ability to use various measuring tools repeatedly with high precision.
Gather data as needed; oversee process improvements and any other needs associated with continuous improvement.
Help ensure that Branch One meets Corporate Quality Assurance guidelines.
Help ensure that Branch One meets and maintains our LP900 Management System Standards.
Verify the calibration of scales and gauges as needed.
Analyze and resolve quality issues as they develop including customer complaints and CARS.
Inspect different items or loads of merchandise going to customers as needed.
Assist with the analysis and document reasons for returns at Branch One.
Responsible for inspecting/re‐opening of crates, which are scheduled and have been crated.
Assist in completion of oven tests as needed.
Perform random checks on each product made at Branch One in order to verify the product meets specifications and is ready to ship to customer.
Assist all supervisors to ensure that products are made according to specifications.
Assist employees with specifications on quality problems.
Perform random checks on finished products going to warehouse and ensure they meet specification guidelines.
Use SPC guidelines to gather pertinent information about quality.
Ensure all supervisors in all departments are performing quality checks.
Audit departments on a regular basis.
Evaluate Branch One inventory as needed.
Responsible for performing activities related to special processes and special studies and their effects on products.
Ensure that Branch One monitors the key indicators developed by Corporate Quality Assurance.
Responsible for rejecting all improperly packaged product in all departments.
Gather/distribute key indicator data monthly.
Reject and write up wire return documents to Wire Mill (0400).
Evaluate Infinity checks and issue preventive actions on quality issues discovered.
Perform LP9000 audits on a scheduled basis; in addition to the lead auditor duties.
Perform 1st piece approvals on product after changeovers.
Perform capability studies on all new products and report their capability indexes to the Quality Systems Manager.
Reject and write up Clips Returns documents to BR0039.
In addition, the Quality Data Technician performs any other tasks related to the operation of this branch as directed by the Quality Systems Manager.
Quality systems background
ISO 9001 preferred
Working knowledge of statistical tools, such as Minitab
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
