Day ShiftThe IT Network Engineer III position proactively designs, monitors, maintains, supports, and optimizes all networked software and associated operating systems and infrastructure in a multi-hospital environment. The Network Engineer III will apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills and expert knowledge to prevent and resolve issues for maximum performance of IT systems investments. Ensure IT standards are maintained across the enterprise
Work as part of an on-call rotation which includes a 24x7 support for the organization
Identify and meet SLA requirements for networks and applications
Gather and analyze user needs and requirements in accordance with IT processes
Be knowledgeable with emerging technology and its potential utilization/application
Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff members, customers, and vendors
Develop, provide and maintain necessary documentation for all applications and systems
Manage monitoring applications using related monitoring tools ; proactively address anomalies
Maintain Datacenter Infrastructure, Security, and Maintenance in a multi-hospital environment
Must be customer service oriented and have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in all aspects of job duties
Design and develop system plans for current and future operation and growth.
Provide technical leadership, deep technical skills, and industry experience and best practices to a motivated Windows Technologies team driving change
Plan and integrate acquisitions into existing server and network infrastructure
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
Network Emphasis
Manage all networking systems and projects including voice/data circuit installation and operation, QoS initiatives, monitoring and altering and timely problem resolution
Windows networking and IP based services, including DNS and DHCP
Utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify, diagnose and repair complex problems and factors affecting network performance
Develop network documentation, including diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures, and work instructions for peers to follow
Design, support, maintain and troubleshoot a wireless environment, both public and private
Proactively monitor and maintain all networking and server equipment to produce the highest available uptime
Plan and integrate acquisitions into existing network infrastructure
Design, implement, configure, and monitor firewalls, IDS, and VPN connections
Virtualization Emphasis
Design, deploy, manage, and maintain desktop virtual pools
Utilize management software to maintain zero client firmware levels and related settings
Manage and build SSO and deploy single sign-on applications
Plan, monitor, maintain and grow all aspects of the hospitals virtual infrastructure
Systems Emphasis
Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy environment
E-mail systems including Exchange environments
Patch Management, Software Distribution, and Client Imaging
All SQL versions and Oracle Databases
Support and Implementation of Third Party Applications including Healthcare and Financial Systems
Anti-virus and SPAM prevention and management
Work with multiple operating systems; multiple LANs; patch management; OS migration
Storage Emphasis
Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage including FCoE
Monitor, maintain, and deploy OS, database, and VM based backup solutions
Monitor and maintain EMC archival storage including replication
Deploy and maintain NAS and CIFS
Manage and deploy archiving software solutions
Security Emphasis
Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor policies and procedures relating to securing data and resources
Monitor and audit centralized logging for all systems
Monitor and maintain IDS, IPS, firewalls, filters and all VPN access to secured network
Implement and maintain system wide patch management
Implement and maintain anti-virus, anti-malware, and anti-spam systems
Telephony Emphasis
Develop, maintain, and document the systems site codes and dial plans
Maintain, deploy, and troubleshoot T38 and G711 SIP faxing
Integrate and migrate from legacy digital and analog systems
Develop, implement, and test site recovery, 911 services, and disaster recovery
Note: Above areas may be re-assigned as needed by the manager or director of IT. Additional areas of training may be added or required in the future
Become
A relevant current Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare or EMC technical certification is required
Bachelor’s or AA Degree in Computer Science or other IT related field required. Eight or more years of IT experience supporting a medium to large sized company with increasing levels of responsibility
Experience with multiple technologies, including Cisco, EMC, Microsoft , and VMWare
Experience in a hospital setting is preferred
Expert level knowledge in three or more areas of emphasis is required
Experience leading projects in support of organizational initiatives is required
