Job Description

The Senior Program Manager role will work with the team to drive strategic and operational improvements. In addition, this role will define our strategy and will be responsible for driving the thinking and execution on key initiatives as well as key operational priorities for Hussmann.

This position will participate in the management and leadership of a range of process improvement and process management activities. These initiatives may represent one portion of a larger project, or may represent a standalone initiative or function within a work group or department. These can include varying degrees of technology implementation, process changes or organizational efforts. Ensure activities are undertaken and executed in support of organizational goals and are accountable for providing business process solutions to meet internal and external customer expectations.

  • Setting high level strategy on business initiatives; analyzing financial impact, policy, programs and staffing to ensure optimal business results.

  • Partner with the Leadership team and customer stakeholders to successfully impact their technology roadmap

  • Develop strategic plan and update roadmaps for Hussmann IT infrastructure

  • Coordinate and align resources and actions with mission, vision and strategy

  • Support Hussmann product technology initiatives aligned with our IT Strategy including Remote Monitoring & IOT

  • Consults with peers and business partners to clarify and define project requirements and business case, including development of a statement of work.

  • Assessing technology solutions and recommending specific products / approaches to meet business requirements and deliver value while minimizing TCO and support effort.

  • Partner with application project teams to ensure infrastructure design and implementation fulfills functional, performance and availability requirements

  • Define and utilize criteria for evaluation of infrastructure options across the spectrum of insource vs. outsource including internal, colocation, managed services, IaaS, etc.

  • Define approach for resilient infrastructure that includes layered redundancy and full-scale Disaster Recovery

  • Lead Disaster Recovery implementation and recurring verification exercises

  • Participate and/or lead Architecture Design Review process to evaluate new projects

  • Participate in definition of infrastructure standards across teams

  • Manage, review and update company policies to align with business requirements and technology architecture

  • Initiating and directing complex projects, directing project staff; working with cross-functional teams, develop project plans and strategies, preparing business cases; directing the planning and estimating of business solutions; influencing and negotiating with senior management; conducting meetings and managing cross-functional teams

  • Creates and delivers presentations to mid-senior level management on project goals, plans and progress, including status, risks, issues and budget.

  • Evaluate and select technology partners for projects, services and support

  • Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing outside vendors.

  • Ability to manage competing demands on time using available resources and remain focused on key objectives/goals

  • Define and implement productivity improvements and best practices within IT and connected functions.

  • Assist in defining and supporting analytics, remote monitoring tools, system integration and asset management associated with business functions.

  • Lead development of tools and best practices to drive efficiency in the operations

  • Engage with IT and business leadership to improve reporting of operational metrics with BI tools

  • Lead technical integration or segregation of any business units that are acquired, divested or transferred

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred.

  • Experience/Training/Certifications in Project Management plus

  • 10 years of operational and process and/or project management, or related business experience

  • 5 years of demonstrated experience working in IT infrastructure

  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure support, design, development and implementation

  • Understanding of project management methodology

  • Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.
