The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers.
The Configuration Data Analyst will provide Configuration Management (CM) support to project teams on primarily DoD contracts. This person will work within DRS’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database to manage the control of engineering and manufacturing product data (engineering drawings, manufacturing drawings, bill of material information etc.) in that system. The analyst will coordinate and oversee the review and approval of engineering and manufacturing product data and associated changes within the PLM system. This includes routing to team members for review and approval as well as monitoring the approval process and providing status to the project team and its members and management. The analyst will process the release of approved items within the PLM system.
Design, develop and establish moderately complex data management documentation based on program requirements
Coordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of configuration management systems
Provide analysis of proposed design changes to determine the effect on the overall system; may recommend methods of improvement
May act as liaison between functional groups
Support the project team in establishment and documentation of Product Data Management tasks on small- to medium-sized projects as they relate to Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics.
Utilize product data management tools & MS Office Suite
Provide support to the Product Data Manager and engineering technical staff
Responsible for regular reporting of progress and status
Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
Support the development, implementation and maintenance of configuration management systems
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Complete assigned tasks on time and meet technical requirements
Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings

Relevant experience in the field of Product Data Management
Basic understanding of engineering or manufacturing technical data packages
Demonstrated growth regarding configuration management principles
Detail oriented individual
Ability to work independently under supervision of others
General computer skills with developed familiarity with product data management tools
Experience with CAD data systems desirable
Associate’s degree in engineering or related technical field (CAD data systems)
Configuration Management experience desired but not required
