Cigna UX Research Manager in Austin, Texas
This role will manage a small, exceptional team of UX Researchers that are passionate about delivering products that make managing healthcare easy.
Apply experience, knowledge of social science, design, and ecommerce best practices to identify both tactical and programmatic research needs.
Investigate and socialize new technology, processes, and/or research approaches.
Foster an inclusive and collaborative culture, with open communication and cross functional partnership.
Collect research data using a broad range of methods (e.g. moderating interviews, usability, focus groups, contextual evaluations, diary studies; design and program surveys) directly, in collaboration with other research staff, or using vendors.
Be a customer advocate, helping to ensure teams have a clear picture of the end user experience.
Mentor UX Researchers in their expertise and professional development.
Stay informed of industry best practices, and help the team to evolve our research practice accordingly.
Identify ways to more efficiently and effectively conduct user research, and share those learnings with the wider community.
Provide clear and direct feedback to the people they manage, their own manager, and cross-functional partners when needed.
Experience using a variety usability methods for both remote and in-person research, including: card sorting, heuristic evaluation (formal and informal), cognitive walkthroughs, participatory design / co-creation workshops.
Ability to manage a research project from end-to-end including eliciting stakeholder goals, study design, screener development and recruiting management, test moderation, data analysis and reporting.
Expert-level knowledge in the field of UX Research with at least 8 years of experience in hands-on research.
A minimum of 2 years of experience managing UX Research Managers.
Outstanding communicator both verbally and in writing.
Strong collaboration skills.
A proven record of leading a team that drives change through UX Research.
Experience advocating for UX Research and broadly communicating about research insights to stakeholders and partners.
Passion for the field of UX Research.
BA/BS in related field; advanced degree in Cognitive Science, Statistics, Human- Psychology, Computer Science, Computer Interaction or related field preferred.
